Immersion Festival

The inaugural Immersion Festival arrives in Toronto this November, bringing a vibrant two-week celebration of Black Canadian choreography and African Diasporic dance traditions to the Betty Oliphant Theatre. Running from November 8 to 22, 2026, the festival highlights the immense depth, history, and evolving artistry of Black dance artists and producers from across Canada and internationally.

### What to Expect Audiences can dive into an expansive program featuring three dynamic stage presentations that showcase acclaimed professional choreographers alongside exceptional Black-led youth dance groups. For those looking to move rather than just watch, the festival offers twelve specialized movement workshops tailored for professional dancers, emerging artists, and community members alike, led by some of Canada’s leading practitioners in the field.

In addition to the performances and masterclasses, three community-gathering events provide spaces to network, build meaningful connections, and celebrate the cultural impact of Black dance within the arts community.
