Onsite Gallery
Step into the vibrant cultural landscape of OCAD University's Onsite Gallery this fall for two compelling exhibitions running from September 2026 through January 2027. Located in the bustling Entertainment District at 199 Richmond Street West, the gallery serves as a vital downtown hub for contemporary art, design, and digital media.
Featured Exhibitions In the Main Gallery, *Returning to Ourselves* offers a comprehensive retrospective celebrating over four decades of work by Cree Métis siblings Rebecca Baird and Kenny Alvin Baird. Curated by Lisa Deanne Smith, the exhibition spans sculpture, painting, graphic design, and public art commissions, highlighting how their creative practices emerge from deep community-centred traditions and lived experience.
Simultaneously, the Special Projects Gallery presents *Michael Massie: now and then*, guest-curated by Alysa Procida. This exhibition traces the whimsical and brilliant career of celebrated Inuk artist Michael Massie, bringing together his iconic teapots, humorous owl sculptures, and new large-scale sculptural installations. Massie’s work brilliantly pushes the boundaries of traditional Inuit art with sharp wit and exceptional silversmithing craftsmanship.
