The Rosebud

(647) 531-1388
Taking over the old Kingsbrae Diner spot on King East, The Rosebud keeps the bones of the original space while swapping the greasy spoon aesthetic for walnut panelling and rose-coloured suede. Amira Becarevic and Justin Cheung run this Corktown wine bar, leaning into a French-inspired menu that isn't afraid to pull in Asian and Mediterranean flavours. It’s a tight, moody room decorated with Jules Monson’s art, managing to feel like a neighbourhood local despite the polished finish.
Don't expect the usual parade of tiny, overpriced small plates here; the kitchen focuses on substantial, composed dishes like handmade pasta or daikon panisse. The wine list is curated specifically to pair with the food, and the cocktail menu keeps things classic. With only 28 seats, you’re wasting your time if you don’t book ahead, especially on a weekend. It’s the kind of place that works just as well for a full dinner as it does for a quiet glass of wine at the end of the night.
