Terroni

(416) 504-0320
Founded in 1992 by Cosimo Mammoliti and Paolo Scoppio, Terroni’s original Queen West location serves as the cornerstone of a Toronto institution. What began as a modest storefront selling imported Italian pantry staples has evolved into a bustling, multi-level restaurant that remains a defining presence in the neighbourhood. The space retains a warm, inviting character, blending its history as a local gathering spot with a modern, updated aesthetic. It specializes in authentic Southern Italian cuisine, with a focus on high-quality ingredients—or materia prima—imported directly from Italy to ensure traditional flavours in every dish.
For a first visit, expect a lively, high-energy atmosphere that is well-suited for groups or casual dinners. The menu is extensive, featuring classic pizzas and house-made pastas; popular choices include the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, Garganelli Geppetto, and various thin-crust pizzas. Note that the restaurant is known for its strict adherence to traditional recipes, so modifications are generally not permitted. The back patio is a sought-after feature during the warmer months, offering a pleasant outdoor setting. Reservations are highly recommended for dinner, especially for larger groups, as the restaurant remains consistently busy.
