Kyma

Kyma is the latest venture from restaurateur Hemant Bhagwani, known for his work at ORO Luxury Dining and Bar Goa. This new concept introduces 'functional dining' to Toronto, aiming to bridge the gap between culinary soul and rigorous health science. Developed in collaboration with a clinical nutritionist, the menu is built around Mediterranean-inspired bowls that are high in protein, free from seed oils, and packed with sprouted grains and fermented fibers meant to support gut health. The space itself is designed as a 'sanctuary of wellness,' featuring high ceilings, abundant natural light, and pale wood finishes that create a calm, airy atmosphere. It is a deliberate response to the city’s growing wellness-obsessed culture, offering a refined environment that feels as much like a retreat as it does a restaurant.
For a first-timer, the Harissa Bowl is the standout, loaded with 52 grams of protein from grilled chicken and black lentils, all tied together with a punchy harissa dressing. If you prefer seafood, The Olympian is a solid choice, featuring Ahi tuna, quinoa, roasted chickpeas, and avocado. The menu also includes a thoughtful selection of 'high-performance' beverages, such as iced collagen tea and Greek yogurt kefir coolers, which are worth trying. Prices are reasonable for the quality of ingredients, and the restaurant offers the flexibility to build your own bowl or pita. It is a great spot for a quick, health-conscious lunch or a casual dinner, and given the buzz around its opening, it is wise to keep an eye on their social media for reservation updates as they settle into the neighbourhood.
