Following the devastating 2024 fire that severely damaged historic St. Anne’s Anglican Church at 270 Gladstone Avenue, the landmark building is reopening to the public for the first time through a breathtaking contemporary art exhibition: *Where Walls Meet Sky*.
The Exhibition
Curated by Rui Pimenta of Art Spin, the exhibition features site-specific works by 12 prominent Canadian artists—including Sandra Brewster, Julia Campisi, John Dickson, Max Streicher, and Eunice Luk—working across sculpture, installation, and photography. Because the historic church currently lacks a roof, the altered interior creates a striking architectural experience where interior and exterior blur, turning the visible sky into a powerful metaphor for resilience, transformation, and healing.
Visiting Information
Running from August 22 through September 13, 2026, admission to this unique exhibition is entirely free. Located in the West End / Dufferin Grove neighbourhood, St. Anne’s is easily reached via the 505 Dundas streetcar or the 29 Dufferin bus. Visitors should note the open-air nature of the venue and dress accordingly for an unforgettable intersection of heritage preservation and contemporary Canadian art.
