Music icon and Talking Heads frontman David Byrne brought his singular artistic vision to the silver screen in 1986 with *True Stories*, his sole foray into feature-film directing. Forty years later, the Hot Docs Cinema is celebrating this hyper-real, satirical ode to ordinary American life with a special anniversary screening.

Inspired by tabloid headlines and shot by brilliant cinematographer Ed Lachman, the film transports viewers to Virgil, Texas, as the town prepares for its 'Celebration of Specialness.'
