Building on its previous success, SankofaFest returns to Sankofa Square for an expanded three-day celebration that anchors the city's late-summer cultural calendar. Centred around remembrance, healing, and future-forward dialogue, the festival culminates on August 23rd with Sankofa Day—marking UNESCO’s International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition.

Visitors to Sankofa Square (formerly Yonge-Dundas Square) can expect an engaging lineup of live performances, thought-provoking art installations, film screenings, and community-led activations. It's a powerful convergence of global reflection and local artistry right in the heart of downtown Toronto.

### What to Expect - **Live Performances & Ceremonies:** Spanning music, spoken word, and traditional acts. - **Art & Film:** Immersive visual installations and screenings highlighting diverse diasporic voices. - **Community Activations:** Interactive spaces designed for connection and dialogue.

Admission is completely free, making it an accessible and vital stop for anyone looking to engage with Toronto's rich cultural fabric. Grab a coffee nearby at a Yonge Street café and spend an afternoon immersed in one of the city's most significant cultural gatherings.
