Out & Back

The most Instagrammed hike near Toronto follows the Bruce Trail to a dramatic Niagara Escarpment lookout 100 metres above the Spencer Gorge, with views stretching across the forested valley to Dundas and Hamilton. The trail also passes Tew Falls, Ontario's second-tallest waterfall at 41 metres.

Very Toronto Tips

Yes, it's popular for a reason. The lookout is genuinely jaw-dropping and the 1-hour drive from downtown makes it an easy half-day trip. Book parking online in advance — they turn people away. Go on a weekday or early morning to avoid the crowds. The fall colours from the peak in mid-October are unreal.
