Xiao Long Bao is the Scarborough soup-dumpling hall at 175 Commander Boulevard, Unit 1 — the room Torontonians spent 27 years calling Ding Tai Fung, which is not the Taiwanese chain. In March 2026 the restaurant transferred that confusing trademark and now operates under its dish name. There is no restaurant-run official website. Phone on city listings: (416) 291-0123. Hours are not posted by the restaurant on an official page — call before you drive to Commander. First-timers: steamed xiao long bao first, then a pan-fried soup dumpling if you want crunch, plus a wonton soup if the table is hungry. This is a spacious family room, not a Spadina counter. No official reservation widget. Weekend lunch is the crush. Useful when you want Scarborough-scale soup dumplings and you know you are not walking into Din Tai Fung Vancouver. Do not search “Ding Tai Fung Toronto” and expect the chain.
