Scarborough Health Network — General Hospital

SHN General is the Lawrence Avenue East campus at 3050 Lawrence Avenue East (Lawrence and McCowan). Official shn.ca/areas-of-care/emergency-and-urgent-care/ states that all three SHN hospitals run full-service emergency departments open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The hospital has been the focus of a large emergency-department expansion and, on SHN’s Build It Forward page, a modernized imaging department. First-timers: this is the central Scarborough 24/7, not Birchmount (Finch) and not Centenary (Ellesmere). Visitor parking is the garage on the west side off Lawrence. SHN’s own pediatric guidance is that children should come to an SHN ED for head injury, significant bone or soft-tissue injury, high persistent fever, persistent vomiting or diarrhea, or a significant change in activity — and that the list is not exhaustive. Do not treat this as a wait-time ranking; it is the mid-Scarborough door.
