Rhyz

TBD
April 24, 2026
Rhyz is a revived supper club concept spearheaded by Michelin-trained chef Alexander Fields, who returned to Toronto to celebrate his Afro-Caribbean roots. The project, which began as a series of pop-ups, has evolved into a unique dining experience that pairs contemporary Afro-Caribbean cuisine with curated Ontario wines. By partnering with wine consultant Julia Clarke, Fields aims to bridge the gap between these culinary traditions and local viticulture, creating an elevated atmosphere that emphasizes storytelling, cultural connection, and the history of the Afro-Caribbean diaspora. The concept is intentionally modern rather than strictly traditional, focusing on well-balanced, flavourful dishes that allow for creative wine pairings.
For a first visit, expect a curated, multi-course tasting menu rather than a standard à la carte experience. The supper club operates through scheduled, often private, events, such as those hosted at the Dymon Wine Club in Etobicoke, so advance booking is essential. Guests should come prepared for an educational component, as the evening is designed to be more than just a meal, with winemakers and the chef often present to discuss the pairings and the inspiration behind each dish. The atmosphere is social and conversational, making it well-suited for those interested in learning about wine and food in a communal setting. Check their official event listings for the latest menu themes and ticket availability.
