Operating out of private event spaces like the Dymon Wine Club at 1460 The Queensway in South Etobicoke, Rhyz is an elevated supper club concept spearheaded by Top Chef Canada alumnus and Michelin-trained chef Alexander Fields. The project bridges contemporary African diaspora and Caribbean culinary traditions with classical French technique in a sleek, lounge-like wine cellar setting. Seating is arranged in an intimate, communal banquet style that naturally facilitates conversation between diners, the kitchen, and guest winemakers.

Rhyz Menu & What to Order The multi-course tasting menu reinvents diaspora staples into intricate, artfully plated dishes, led by torched kingfish tiradito drizzled with scotch bonnet leche and peppered guava jelly, and crisp salt cod bakes garnished with ackee and caviar. The standout main course is the slow-braised beef cheek pepperpot served over cassava whipped potato with charred plantain espuma and chicken-fried okra. For the sweet finish, look for spiced sweet potato beignets served with coconut crème pâtissière and caramelized coconut sorbet. Curated in partnership with wine consultant Julia Clarke, the beverage pairings lean into Ontario cool-climate vintages that balance the scotch bonnet warmth and deep, rich sauces.
