What is Rap's? Rap's (historically Rap's Real Jerk) is a historic pillar of Toronto's Caribbean dining culture, located at 1541 Eglinton Avenue West in Oakwood Village's Little Jamaica. Rap's Menu & What to Order The defining order is the Charcoal-Grilled Jerk Chicken, marinated for twenty-four hours in a fiery paste of scotch bonnet peppers, pimento berries, garlic, and thyme before being slow-smoked over hardwood charcoal for a deep, smoky bark and succulent meat. Plates are piled high with coconut rice and peas, tangy coleslaw, and rich oxtail gravy ladled over the top. Other soul-warming staples include gelatinous braised oxtail with butter beans, tender curry goat, whole fried escovitch kingfish, and savory Jamaican red pea soup stocked with salted beef and dumplings.
