Raani is an ambitious Indian dining destination situated in downtown's corporate core, helmed by restaurateur Ambica Jain of Yorkville's Michelin-recognized Adrak. Taking over a two-level space on Bay Street, the restaurant draws aesthetic and culinary inspiration from the opulence of 18th- and 19th-century Indian royal courts. The interior design leans into a rich, expressive palette featuring soaring gold arches, patterned carpeting, and velvet seating in shades of maroon and olive green, establishing an atmosphere that counters the surrounding corporate environment.
Visitors can expect a menu centered on heritage-driven regional recipes and classic techniques drawn from India's princely states rather than modern reinventions. Beyond the primary dining room and cocktail lounge, the 162-seat venue incorporates distinct architectural elements from its building's history as a bank, including a lower-level private event space housed inside the original walk-in vault. Reservations and early access lists are managed via their digital channels ahead of its official debut.
