Paupers Pub

Paupers has been pouring in the Annex since 1986, and the secluded rooftop patio is still the reason locals climb past the converted-bank dining rooms. It is a classic neighbourhood roof: skyline backdrop, pub prices, burgers and Canadian pub plates, craft beer, and none of the King West door policy. The pub’s own about page still sells the rooftop as one of Toronto’s most celebrated secluded decks; OpenTable hours for the building are Monday–Wednesday 11:30 a.m.–midnight, Thursday–Friday 11:30 a.m.–2 a.m., Saturday 11 a.m.–2 a.m., Sunday 11 a.m.–midnight. The rooftop itself is seasonal and typically later than the dining room—treat it as weather-permitting from late afternoon. They take patio reservations and can usually walk in small groups. Bathurst station is steps away. This is the anti-velvet-rope roof, 40 years on Bloor in 2026, and the geographic gap-filler north of the downtown hotel cluster.
