Dundas West gets a lot of hype, but Patois actually earns it by leaning hard into chef Craig Wong’s Jamaican-Chinese roots. It’s a loud, high-energy room where the decor involves inflatable pool toys and the soundtrack is strictly hip-hop. Wong brings his background in French fine dining to the table, but he’s ditched the white tablecloths for a menu that feels like a family reunion. It’s the kind of place that captures the city’s chaotic, creative energy without trying too hard to be anything other than a good time.

Bring a group, because the menu is built for sharing and you’ll want to try a bit of everything. The jerk chicken chow mein and the pineapple bun burger are the main reasons people keep coming back, and the jerk chicken itself is consistently solid.
