Mount Sinai’s Emergency Department is the Schwartz/Reisman Emergency Centre at 600 University Avenue, on the south side of the main building, with drop-off and pick-up on Murray Street. Official sinaihealth.ca/areas-of-care/emergency-department says the ED is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, sees more than 60,000 patients annually, and lists 416-586-5054. Sinai Health’s own page is explicit about children: the team can assess and stabilize and provide first aid and pain management, but the hospital cannot perform diagnostic imaging for children and does not have specialist paediatric care on site for children over one week of age. Official nearby pediatric EDs they name are SickKids (170 Elizabeth), St. Joseph’s (30 The Queensway), Michael Garron, and North York General. First-timers: this is Hospital Row, connected to Toronto General and Princess Margaret — an adult academic ED with geriatric emergency nurses (GEM), psychiatric emergency services, and a Pathway to Peers program for ages 16–29. Murray Street is the 24-hour door; the University Avenue entrance is weekday-limited.
