Lyla's House

Originally launched in Georgetown, Ontario in 2023, Lyla's House brought its dual-concept format to Bloor West Village in December 2025 — specialty coffee shop by day, organic wine bar by night. Founded by Alex Ratcliff, the Toronto location at 2196 Bloor Street West (one block from Bloor and Runnymede) adds a full kitchen that the Georgetown original lacks, enabling a more comprehensive evening service.

Daytime brings specialty coffee — flat whites, lattes, cappuccinos — alongside artisan pastries, avocado toast, caprese sandwiches, and fresh-baked goods. Come evening on Fridays and Saturdays, the space transforms into a wine bar with a rotating selection of organic wines, wine flights, and seasonal shareables.

The concept is built around the idea of a "third place" — a community gathering space beyond home and work, where careful attention to coffee sourcing, art on the walls, and atmosphere create something that feels personal rather than transactional. Cafe hours run Tuesday through Sunday, 8 AM to 4 PM; wine bar service Friday and Saturday evenings, 4:30 to 9 PM. An Oakville location is planned for April 2026.
