The Coffee Tree Roastery

Coffee Tree is Bloor West’s on-site roastery, family-run since 1988 and still roasting in the shop: official contact block lists 2412 Bloor Street West, Toronto M6S 1P9, Monday–Friday 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., Saturday 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., Sunday 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., info@coffeetree.ca. The homepage copy is “Toronto’s First On-Site Coffee Roastery,” two generations, a gathering place as much as a cup. Retail bags run from house blends (Espresso Corazon, Millionaire’s Mixture) to origin lots, with Direct Trade, Café Femenino, Rainforest Alliance, and Canada Organic marks on the same page. First-timers: drip from the house board — they roast here, so the brewed coffee is the test — plus a breakfast sandwich if you are staying. Sunday close is 4. Lots of seating relative to a downtown espresso bar. This is the west-end neighbourhood roaster the downtown lists skip.
