LA Rumba Restaurant and Lounge

What is LA Rumba Restaurant and Lounge? Perched on Wilson Ave in Oakdale-Beverley Heights, LA Rumba serves as a dynamic hub, morphing from a daytime Dominican and Latin American eatery into a lively bar and lounge come evening. The space, while possessing a distinct bar-like aesthetic, delivers authentic Caribbean flavours within its casual setting, complete with a front patio on private property.

LA Rumba Restaurant and Lounge Menu & What to Order Begin with the 'Sosua fish platter' or a plate of warm 'Cheese empanadas' before diving into the heartier fare. The 'Bandera Dominicana', a classic stewed beef with rice, beans, and green salad, offers a comforting taste of home, while the 'Mofongo' provides a satisfying texture of smashed fried plantain and fried pork. For those seeking variety, the 'Picalonga' — a generous mix of pork belly, chunks, chicken, crispy ears, and chorizo — is a true highlight, and the 'Pescado Frito' promises a perfectly seasoned whole fried fish.

Know Before You Go Given its lively bar and lounge concept, walk-ins are the norm, especially on weekends when the evening transforms into a club-like atmosphere. Expect later hours on Sundays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, extending well into the early morning, while weekday mornings start early. Parking is available, and local transit will get you to this neighbourhood fixture.
