Japan Taco has transitioned from its popular pop-up roots at the Distillery Winter Village into a permanent storefront located at 252 Queen Street West. The counter-service concept merges Japanese ingredients and traditional sushi components with the structural format of Mexican street fare, specializing in crispy seaweed taco shells filled with seasoned rice and proteins. Situated along a high-traffic stretch of Queen West, the casual eatery serves downtown foot traffic looking for quick, portable fusion bites in a bustling commercial corridor.

First-time visitors can choose from a menu featuring options like the spicy salmon sushi taco with cucumber and spicy mayo, the Buta shoyu slow-cooked pork belly with pickled radish, and the Saikoro steak taco featuring grilled diced beef with guacamole and pico de gallo. Seafood options include a lobster and shrimp variant accented with yuzu and black fish roe, alongside unagi and chicken yakitori builds.
