Cherry Beach’s off-leash area is still the one waterfront run that feels like a proper outing: a City-designated OLA on the west side of Cherry Beach / Clarke Beach Park in the Port Lands, with sand, shade, and Lake Ontario at the edge of the enclosure. GIS still lists it as an active Off Leash Area (unlit). The swimming beach itself is a different rulebook — dogs may only enter swimming beach areas from November 1 to March 31 — so stay inside the signed OLA in summer if you want lake access without a bylaw surprise. Free parking and the Port Lands trail network make it a weekend default; bring a towel. The City’s Rules of the Run apply: stay with your dog, stoop and scoop, and call 311 for maintenance.
