What is Bonito's? Perched at 180 Ossington Avenue above sister basement spot Bar Bowie, Bonito's is a playful Korean-Ecuadorian diner and late-night hangout housed in a transformed laundromat. Conceived by Mikey Kim and Adrian Montesdeoca—the duo behind Milou—the 37-seat room channels a 1970s rec-room aesthetic with rich wood panelling, Tiffany-style lamps, vintage sports posters, and vinyl banquettes. Guests step through a faux convenience store front into a nostalgic space centered around a bustling bar counter and intimate diner tables.

Bonito's Menu & What to Order The kitchen draws on the founders' respective heritage to turn out sharp, snackable comfort plates that steer clear of generic fusion. Don't skip the citrus-packed scallop and jellyfish aguachile or the cheese-stuffed llapingacho taiyaki, alongside comforting staples like tteokbokki de choclo and sweet-heat Gochu Glaze wings. The undeniable crowd favourite is the crispy Oklahoma-style onion smash burger, which pairs smoothly with local craft pints or inventive house cocktails.
