Bom Dia Cafe & Bakery

What is Bom Dia Cafe & Bakery? Anchoring a bright stretch of Queen Street West in South Parkdale, Bom Dia Cafe & Bakery brings an airy Lisbon cafe sensibility to west-end Toronto. The two-storey space features soaring ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, imported marble counters, and traditional Portuguese azulejo tiles lining the staircase. It operates as an effortless day-maker, handling brisk morning espresso runs alongside leisurely sit-down pastry breaks at sunny counter and table seating.

Bom Dia Cafe & Bakery Menu & What to Order The glass display cases spotlight impeccably blistered Pastéis de Nata, their crisp, laminated pastry cups cradling warm, wobbly custard kissed with cinnamon. Savoury appetites should pivot straight to the Bifana, featuring tender marinated pork cutlets tucked into crusty Portuguese bread, or the golden, butter-crisped Tosta Mista melt. Save room for the Natas do Céu—a velvety layered cream dessert crafted from Grandma Alice's family recipe—and wash it down with a snappy double shot pulled from Tiziano Riserva 1919 beans.

Know Before You Go Everything runs on a walk-in, counter-service format, so be prepared for a brisk lineup during prime weekend brunch hours when seating on both levels fills quickly. The 501 Queen streetcar stops practically outside the door, which is your best bet given that Queen West street parking is heavily contested. Early birds can take advantage of the 7:00 a.m. weekday doors to snag the freshest morning bakes straight out of the ovens.
