Black+Blue

Occupying the former Toronto Stock Exchange floor in the Exchange Tower, Black+Blue brings a massive, two-storey steakhouse operation to the Financial District. Vancouver’s Glowbal Restaurant Group designed the space to feel grand, utilizing soaring ceilings and a literal Himalayan salt-lined locker to dry-age their beef on-site. Despite the sheer scale of the room, the layout is broken into smaller, more manageable pockets that keep the corporate crowd from feeling like they’re eating in a cavern. It’s a polished, high-energy environment that leans into the opulence of the historic building while catering to the suits and socialites who dominate this corner of the city.
Expect a menu heavy on high-end imports like A5 Wagyu and certified Japanese Kobe, alongside a raw bar that handles the seafood side of things. The service leans into the theatrical, with staff performing tableside Caesar salads and flambéed Crêpes Suzette if you’re looking for a bit of a show. The enclosed, heated patio is actually usable year-round, which is a rarity for this part of King Street. Reservations are non-negotiable during the week, and while the dress code is technically business casual, you’ll want to dress the part if you don't want to feel out of place among the post-work crowd.
