What is Bakerrae? Located at 326 Broadview Avenue in East Chinatown, Bakerrae is a dedicated micro-bakery and cafe co-anchoring a light-filled storefront with bean-to-bar chocolatier Chachalate. Founded by former COVID test nurse Rhea Abayan, the shop evolved from popular underground pop-ups into an airy, minimalist space outfitted with blonde wood, soft lighting, and seating for about thirty patrons.

Bakerrae Menu & What to Order Abayan marries meticulous classic French laminations with the nostalgic Filipino flavours of her childhood. The pastry counter rotates frequently, but staples like the flaky calamansi curd croissants, purple yam-stuffed ube ensaymada pastries, and cinnamon-spiced Rae Rolls are mandatory gets. Savoury palates should zero in on laminated pockets layered with caramelized onion and mushroom adobo, washed down with a pandan iced latte, a tart calamansi espresso tonic, or single-origin hot chocolate.
