About
Supercrawl grew out of Hamilton's monthly Art Crawl gallery nights in 2009 and has since ballooned into a full street festival spanning roughly 22 blocks of James Street North, drawing crowds well into six figures. It's free, it's outdoor, and it's become the clearest symbol of Hamilton's arts-driven downtown revival — big-name musical headliners on outdoor stages alongside gallery openings, public art installations, and a street-level energy that feels more like a block party than a produced event.
What to Expect
Multiple outdoor music stages running concurrently, art installations and open studios along the full length of James Street North, food trucks and vendor booths, and a dense, all-ages street crowd that peaks Saturday evening.
Pro Tips
The festival is entirely outdoors with no rain plan for most programming — check the forecast and dress accordingly. Side streets off James have public washrooms with shorter lines than the main drag.
Getting There
GO Transit Lakeshore West line direct to Hamilton West Harbour GO Station, about an hour from Union Station, then a short walk to James Street North. Driving via the QEW takes about 50 minutes but parking near the festival is scarce.
