The Story Painter Bill Jameson is holed up in his apartment working on a portrait series celebrating Black womanhood as civil unrest unfolds outside. When a vibrant woman named Tommy is brought in to model, her unvarnished presence upends the quiet intellectual hierarchies of the room, forcing everyone to confront how easily they fall into the very judgments they wish to transcend.
