The Great Beaver Quest

Beaver fever has officially taken over the east end of downtown. Presented by the Old Town Toronto BIA in partnership with STEPS Public Art, **The Great Beaver Quest** has transformed the historic neighbourhood into an open-air, interactive gallery. Running through the end of August 2026, this sprawling free scavenger hunt features 51 larger-than-life, four-foot-tall beaver sculptures tucked into hidden courtyards, peering out from office windows, and guarding bustling street corners.

Global Inspiration Meets Local Artistry

If the concept of a decorated animal takeover brings back fond memories of Toronto's iconic *Moose in the City* public art project from back in 2000, you aren't the only one. This modern iteration carries that same whimsical spirit while tying into the massive global soccer tournament taking the world by storm. Of the 51 custom sculptures, 48 are uniquely hand-painted by local artists to represent participating nations from around the globe, while additional statues celebrate the unity of the games and the vibrant spirit of Old Town itself.
