Taste of Little Italy is one of Toronto's longest-running and most beloved street festivals. College Street between Bathurst and Shaw goes pedestrian-only for three days of Italian and multicultural food, live music, carnival rides, and the kind of unstructured sidewalk socializing that Toronto does best in summer.
The Food
Over 200 vendors line the street, plus the restaurants and cafés along College extend their patios right onto the road. This is the weekend to eat your way through Little Italy — from classic Italian to Portuguese, Latin American, and everything the neighbourhood's multicultural makeup has to offer. Free tastings and samples from vendors are part of the deal.
The Music
Multiple stages and street corner performances run all weekend. The lineup typically spans Italian classics, pop, rock, and Latin music — it's a party, not a curated concert series, and that's the point.
Schedule
Friday from 3 PM. Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM. Friday and Saturday run until 1 AM; Sunday wraps at 10 PM.
Getting There
Queen's Park or Bathurst Station on Line 2, then the 511 Bathurst streetcar south or walk. The 506 Carlton streetcar runs right through the festival zone. Street parking is nonexistent — take transit or bike.
