Shostakovich & Mozart

The Toronto Symphony Orchestra brings an enchanting evening of symphonic mastery to the Meridian Arts Centre with its 'Shostakovich & Mozart' program, led by Music Director Gustavo Gimeno.

The Program The evening opens with the shadowy, atmospheric magic of Sofia Gubaidulina's *Fairytale Poem*, setting a mystical tone before shifting gears into the sly wit and dazzling virtuosity of Shostakovich's *Concerto for Piano, Trumpet, and String Orchestra*. This centerpiece features stellar performances by acclaimed pianist Charles Richard-Hamelin and TSO Principal Trumpet Steven Woomert. The night concludes with the youthful brilliance, elegance, and sparkling grace of Mozart's *Symphony No. 39*.
