The Story & Production Set against the backdrop of a West Harlem hair braiding shop, the play captures the lives, dreams, and resilience of a community of West African immigrant braiders and their diverse clientele. Nightwood Theatre, Canada's foremost feminist theatre company, infuses the production with sharp wit, brilliant character work, and powerful storytelling.

Venue & Neighbourhood Performances take place at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts (50 Tank House Lane) in the Distillery District. Arrive early to wander the cobblestone pedestrian village, explore local galleries, or enjoy a meal at one of the neighbourhood's standout restaurants before heading into the theatre.
