Shab-e She’r (Poetry Night) CXXI

Shab-e She’r (Poetry Night) is back at the Tranzac Club in the Annex for its 121st edition, and it remains one of the city's most essential spaces for spoken word. If you're looking for an evening that prioritizes diverse voices and raw, honest expression, this is the place to be.
The Lineup This edition features poets Rania El Mugammar and A. Daniyal. Rania El Mugammar is a powerhouse in the Toronto arts scene, known for her work in Black liberation and decolonization, while A. Daniyal brings a unique perspective shaped by his upbringing in Pakistan and Italy. As always, the night includes an open mic segment, giving local poets a chance to share their own work in any language.
Why You Should Go Shab-e She’r is more than just a reading; it's a community hub. The atmosphere is welcoming, inclusive, and deeply engaging. Whether you're a seasoned poet or just someone who appreciates the power of the spoken word, you'll find something to resonate with here. The Tranzac Club provides a cozy, intimate setting that perfectly complements the vulnerability of the performances.
