Reimu 冷夢

Experience the world premiere of *Reimu* (冷夢), a contemporary mixed-media production by the Hibiki Project that breathes new life into the ancient Japanese folklore of the Yuki-onna, or Snow Woman. Staged in the intimate performance space of Arraymusic in Toronto's West Queen West neighbourhood, this chamber performance merges live music, theatre, and visual storytelling into a chilling tale of winter, isolation, and taboo.

Directed by Mabel Wonnacott and conducted by Kento Stratford, *Reimu* follows a young lumberjack trapped in a perpetual winter who finds solace with a mysterious woman untouched by the freezing cold. Their peaceful domestic life against the frost thrives in secrecy—until a forbidden memory is spoken aloud. As the boundaries between memory and reality dissolve, the consequences of a broken vow unfold with haunting musical intensity.

Presented under the Canadian Actors' Equity Association's Artists' Collective Policy, the one-hour production delivers a tightly woven narrative exploring grief, supernatural presence, and the fragility of human devotion. Arraymusic's Walnut Avenue studio provides an ideal, up-close setting for the chamber ensemble's evocative textures and dynamic vocal performances.
