6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Centre for Social Innovation – Spadina
If you've ever wanted to move beyond store-bought naan and master the art of fresh, homemade Indian flatbreads, this workshop at the Centre for Social Innovation on Spadina is for you. Chef Ekta Maheshwari, a George Brown College instructor and owner of Arth Toronto, will guide you through the techniques behind some of the most beloved everyday breads.
What You'll Learn This isn't just a demonstration; it's a full hands-on experience. You’ll be kneading dough for beetroot parathas, learning the secrets to perfect, spiced aloo parathas, and trying your hand at besan parathas—a savory Rajasthani specialty.
While the dough rests, you’ll work in groups to prepare a comforting home-style chole (chickpea curry) and a cooling mint and cucumber raita to round out the meal. By the end of the class, you’ll have the skills to shape, roll, and griddle your own breads, and you'll sit down to enjoy the fruits of your labour together.
