Experience a unique evening of contemporary theatre as Volcano presents the first English-language staged reading of Half of the Moon by renowned German playwright Roland Schimmelpfennig. Taking place at 304 Parliament Street, the production explores the fragile, transformative space where illusion meets reality.
The story centres on the travelling circus Narva, arriving at the edge of a city with a tightrope stretched across the dark—offering audiences the rare chance to believe in transformation. When the magic takes an unexpected turn, the play deepens into a poignant meditation on expectation, hope, and human perception.
The powerhouse cast features acclaimed performers including Ins Choi, Sébastien Heins, Oyin Oladejo, Anand Rajaram, and Bahia Watson, under the direction of Ross Manson with sound design by John Gzowski. Stick around after the performance for a casual reception to chat with the cast and creative team. It’s an intimate, thought-provoking outing for theatre lovers right near Corktown.
