If you like your post-punk fractured, loud, and entirely uncompromising, circle this date on your calendar. Dublin's Gilla Band (formerly known as Girl Band) are heading to Lee's Palace on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, bringing their signature wall of industrial noise and anxious, hypnotic energy to the Annex.
Known for jaw-droppingly intense live performances where frontman Dara Kiely delivers spoken-word catharsis over a brutalist landscape of distorted guitar and thunderous percussion, Gilla Band remain one of the most vital alternative acts operating today. Support for the evening comes from Piss.
What to Expect
Expect a blistering set packed with abrasive textures, relentless rhythms, and a crowd of dedicated music heads swaying and moshing in equal measure. Lee's Palace, located at 529 Bloor Street West, provides the ideal sticky-floored, intimate rock crucible for a band of this magnitude.
Getting There & Making a Night of It
Situated right in the heart of the Annex, Lee's is easily accessible via the TTC (just a short walk from Bathurst Station). Before doors open at 7:00 PM, grab a pint and a bite at one of the many classic neighbourhood spots along Bloor or down in Koreatown. Tickets are $35 and this is a 19+ event. Don't sleep on this if you like your music loud and boundary-pushing.
