Pack a lawn chair, grab a blanket, and head over to the east end for a Toronto summer staple. Dusk Dances celebrates its 32nd season at Withrow Park, transforming the green spaces of Riverdale into an open-air theatrical stage.
The Program
Under the direction of Sofi Gudiño, this year's festival features captivating site-specific choreography by Jayden Gigliotti, Lucía Llano, Lukas Malkowski, Cai Glover, and Anjali Tanna. The evening begins sharply at 7:00 PM in the north-east corner of the park with a free, all-ages public dance workshop led by Miss Coco Murray. Following the workshop, acclaimed choreographer and host Hollywood Jade will guide audiences through four distinct performance sites across the park.
Accessibility and Logistics
True to its community roots, Dusk Dances operates on a pay-what-you-wish model (suggested $20 contribution). This year's festival also features dedicated ASL interpretation by Gaetrie Persaud-Killings and the continuation of 'Dusk Dances Park It'—a stationary seating option for those who prefer to stay put while the magic comes to them.
