Culinary Workshop: Bread & Butter

Step back in time and master the comforting basics of historic hearthcraft with a hands-on culinary workshop at The Village at Black Creek. Guided by authentic 19th-century recipes used historically on-site, participants will mix, knead, and bake their own traditional loaves of bread from scratch.

While the bread bakes in the oven, you'll learn traditional techniques to churn fresh butter by hand. The workshop wraps up with the best part: tasting your freshly baked bread warm out of the oven slathered with your own handmade butter. You'll leave class with a full loaf and a serving of fresh butter to take home.

Located in North York near York University, The Village provides an immersive historical backdrop. Closed-toe shoes and tied-back hair are required for this adult-focused culinary session.
