Don Murphy is a proud Irishman, a hopeless addict, and one of his generation’s greatest actors. He also happens to be a chicken. Over one fateful night, the feathered Oscar-winner shares his star-studded story with an intimate audience—from his big break to his first bird-on-bird sexual experience and the harsh realities of navigating the celebrity spotlight.

A Unique Theatrical Experience Co-written by Eva O’Connor and Hildegard Ryan, *Chicken* is a bold, unconventional piece of theatre that challenges the audience to look at humankind through a completely different lens. As Playbill noted, "This show where a woman who plays a chicken who thinks he’s an Irishman is unlike anything you’ve ever seen." It’s a must-see for those who appreciate theatre that pushes boundaries and blends humour with existential questioning.

Part of the Bealtaine Theatre Festival This production is a highlight of the Canada Ireland Foundation’s Bealtaine Theatre Festival, which brings the best of contemporary Irish theatre to Toronto. The festival runs from May 21 to June 7 at The Corleck, a brand-new performance venue located right on Toronto’s waterfront at 3 Eireann Quay.

Practical Information *Chicken* is recommended for ages 13 and up. Given its location at the new Corleck building, it’s a great opportunity to explore the revitalized waterfront area before or after the show. Whether you're a fan of Irish arts or just looking for a truly unique night out, this show promises to be a memorable addition to your spring calendar.
