Toronto's new St. Clair shop swaps sugary soft-serve for tangy, authentic Greek frozen yogurt.

Forget everything you think you know about traditional mall-grade soft-serve. Located at 81 St. Clair Avenue East, Kela strips away the cloying, ultra-sweet artificial profile common to most frozen dessert spots and focuses entirely on a single, uncompromising base. This is explicitly a frozen yogurt and not an ice cream: the base leans wonderfully sour and authentically yogurty rather than sugary, offering an adult-leaning flavor profile that children accustomed to hyper-sweet treats might find bracing. The tiny storefront is strictly a takeaway destination with no indoor seating, designed for quick visits where you step inside, grab your treat, and head right back out.

The tidy counter displays an array of thoughtful toppings, from rich brownie bites to crunchy granola.

There is only one style of white yogurt base available, and it comes in three distinct sizes. Your cup tier determines your topping allocation, granting you one, two, or three free additions from roughly a dozen options laid out neatly behind the glass. Instead of messy metal containers, everything is presented cleanly in stylish ceramic bowls with wooden spoons. Among the roster, the pistachio and chocolate options stand out as crowd favorites, though the natural tanginess of the sour yogurt base pairs exceptionally well with fresh fruit to balance the richness.

Portions are well-judged and entirely manageable for a single person, meaning you won't walk away weighed down by an excessive quantity. Because there's no seating, plan to enjoy your cup while walking the neighbourhood. Stick to a fruit pairing if you want to highlight the authentic sour bite of the dairy, and lean toward the pistachio or chocolate drizzles if you are chasing something more indulgent. It's a sharp, refreshing addition to the local dessert circuit for anyone looking past standard ice cream.
