Aadab

Located on Kennedy Road in Scarborough, Aadab has quickly established itself as a go-to spot for those seeking authentic Hyderabadi and Arab-inspired cuisine. For locals mourning the loss of the nearby Shaaz, this is a more than worthy successor, delivering similar, robust flavor profiles in a significantly more polished environment. The interior is thoughtfully designed, featuring warm, inviting lighting, intricate lattice-work screens, and comfortable, cushioned booth seating that makes for a relaxed dining experience. While the restaurant is beautifully decorated, be aware that the entrance vestibule can be a bit drafty on colder days, so you might want to choose a table further into the dining room.

When it comes to the menu, the Dum Ka Chicken is an absolute standout—the depth of flavor is exceptional, and it’s so good you might find yourself ordering a second round. The chicken pakodi is another must-order, elevated by a fantastic dipping sauce that perfectly complements the crispy exterior. If you’re a fan of biryani, the boneless chicken version is seasoned perfectly and generously portioned. A quick tip: many of the curries are packed with fresh curry leaves, which add a wonderful aromatic profile, though you’ll want to set them aside before diving in. While the Haleem was a miss during our visit, the rest of the meal was consistently strong. Prices are reasonable for the portion sizes, and you should definitely finish your meal with an Irani chai; it provides the perfect, soothing contrast to the spice-forward dishes. It’s a solid, reliable spot for a hearty meal.
