University of Toronto Schools

University of Toronto Schools (UTS), founded in 1910, is a premier co-educational, merit-based independent day school for Grades 7 through 12, located directly on the University of Toronto campus at 371 Bloor Street West. UTS operates in formal partnership with U of T and has produced more Rhodes Scholars (22) and Orders of Canada than any high school in the country.

Admissions to UTS is among the most competitive in North America: over 1,000 applicants compete for roughly 100 Grade 7 spots through a rigorous two-stage assessment process comprising standardized academic testing and structured group interviews. The accelerated curriculum completes the Ontario high school graduation requirements early, allowing senior students to take Advanced Placement and undergraduate university courses at U of T.

Financial Aid: As a strictly merit-based institution, UTS commits to ensuring that no accepted student is turned away due to financial need, distributing over $1.5 million in need-based bursaries annually. Tuition for 2025–26 is approximately $36,800.
