St. Michael's College School

Founded in 1852 by the Basilian Fathers, St. Michael's College School (SMCS) is Ontario's only independent Catholic secondary school for young men in Grades 7 through 12, located at Bathurst Street and St. Clair Avenue West. SMCS combines Catholic faith tradition with exceptional academic and athletic heritage.

SMCS operates the most celebrated high school hockey program in North America (the St. Michael's Majors), having graduated over 200 NHL players including Dave Keon, Frank Mahovlich, and Brendan Shanahan. Academically, the school offers Advanced Placement courses in calculus, physics, chemistry, and literature alongside acclaimed symphonic band and drumline ensembles.

Admissions: Applications open in autumn for Grade 7 and Grade 9 intake. Financial Aid: The school provides more than $2.0 million in financial aid and scholarships annually. Annual tuition is $24,750 — significantly more accessible than non-denominational independent schools.
