Founded in 1867, The Bishop Strachan School (BSS) is one of Canada's oldest independent schools for girls. The Forest Hill campus serves 970 students from Kindergarten through Grade 12, with 70 boarding students in residence. Average class sizes are 18–22.
BSS offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses for Grades 9–12 alongside a project-based, inquiry-driven curriculum with strong STEAM programming. The school's Beyond the Classroom initiative includes global learning, outdoor education, and service learning. The High Performance Athlete Program supports competitive student athletes.
Students can choose from 80+ clubs, teams, and affinity groups. The Lang Scholar Program and leadership development are woven throughout the programme. BSS allocates over $2 million annually in financial assistance.
The school's 6,620 alumnae network spans the globe, and the Summer Academy offers credit courses and skill-building for students beyond the BSS community.
