What is You Don Ya? Set along Dundas Street West in Downtown Toronto's Little Tokyo pocket, You Don Ya is a focused Japanese eatery dedicated to the art of donburi. The interior is lined with clean, pale wood finishes and bright, understated lighting designed for efficient everyday dining. Seating consists of cozy communal and two-top tables that accommodate solo diners, TMU students, and financial district workers on lunch breaks.

You Don Ya Menu & What to Order The kitchen specializes in loaded rice bowls featuring grilled meats and seafood, with every dine-in donburi order including self-serve access to a mini buffet station for unlimited miso soup, salads, and sides. The flame-torched Aburi Salmon Don and the tender Karubi Don topped with grilled Angus short rib are perennial crowd favourites. Carnivores should not overlook the Gyu-Tan Don (grilled beef tongue) or the rich, slow-simmered chicken katsu curry.

Know Before You Go Reservations can be booked online for Monday through Thursday visits, but Friday through Sunday service is strictly walk-in only and fills quickly at peak lunch and dinner hours. Dundas and St. Patrick subway stations are both less than a five-minute walk away, making the TTC by far the easiest way to get here. Keep in mind that takeout orders are priced slightly lower, but only dine-in customers receive the side buffet perks.
