The Wolfe Tone

What is The Wolfe Tone? Anchoring Queen Street East in The Beach, The Wolfe Tone is an unpretentious, community-driven Irish tavern named in tribute to 18th-century revolutionary Theobald Wolfe Tone. Inside, dark wood accents, sports memorabilia, and a cozy back snug complete with a fireplace set a warm, lived-in scene beside a sunny Queen-facing patio. Seating accommodates casual pints at the central bar counter, communal gathering tables, and comfy perimeter booths.

The Wolfe Tone Menu & What to Order The kitchen sticks to comforting Irish staples and crowd-pleasing shareables. Start with the cheese curry chips loaded with imported McDonnells Irish curry sauce, or split a basket of Wolfe wings tossed in rich Guinness BBQ sauce. Traditionalists will appreciate the full Irish breakfast loaded with rashers, bangers, and black and white pudding, as well as the golden fish and chips. Pair your meal with an expertly poured, two-stage pint of Guinness or an Irish whiskey from the top shelf.

Know Before You Go Walk-ins are welcomed, but tables fill rapidly during weekend live Celtic music sessions and early-morning European football screenings. Table reservations for larger parties can be booked directly through the pub's website. The 501 Queen streetcar stops steps from the front door, while paid street parking lines Queen Street East.
