What is The Greater Good? Anchor of the railside strip at 229 Geary Avenue, The Greater Good is a cavernous, lodge-inspired craft beer bar and retro arcade brought to life by the team behind Dundas West's Get Well. The bi-level room combines rustic timber accents, communal picnic tables, a second-floor mezzanine stocked with vintage pinball and arcade cabinets, and a laid-back summer patio.
The Greater Good Menu & What to Order The kitchen operates as a dedicated outpost for North of Brooklyn Pizzeria, dishing out crisp, blistered New York–style pies by the slice or whole. The clear headliner is the Killer Bee pie, stacked with calabrese sausage, pickled red onions, and hot honey, balanced by a side of butter-brushed Garlic Knots submerged in creamy garlic dip. To wash it down, the bar pours 19 rotating taps highlighting Ontario craft breweries alongside local ciders and crushable cocktails.
Know Before You Go Tables operate on a strictly walk-in basis with no reservations accepted, so groups should arrive early before the evening rush hits around 8:00 p.m. The space welcomes families during early weekend afternoons for pizza and games before shifting to a 19+ venue at night. Located just west of Dufferin Street, the easiest transit route is taking the 29 Dufferin bus to Geary Avenue.
