The French Kitchen is an intimate 20-seat culinary destination led by renowned chef Didier Leroy. Located in the Junction neighbourhood, the restaurant serves as a return to classic French gastronomy for the Master Chef, who previously gained international acclaim at ventures like LSL. The concept focuses on a boutique, multi-course tasting experience that rotates with the seasons and the chef’s creative whims, emphasizing traditional techniques, discipline, and the joy of shared meals. The space, which formerly housed Bunner’s Bake Shop, is designed to be a place where guests can slow down and experience hospitality in every detail.

For a first visit, guests should expect a five-course tasting menu priced at $148 per person, with the option to add wine pairings to each course. The restaurant intentionally omits a published menu, meaning diners arrive without knowing exactly what will be served, though signature dishes like the delicate pike-perch (le gâteau de sandre) and staples such as escargot, tartare, and quail are frequent highlights. Reservations are available through OpenTable, and the restaurant plans to expand its offerings in future phases, including the addition of a more casual bar space in the back room. It is a refined, purposeful environment that avoids trendy gimmicks in favor of authentic French craft.
