Tan Dinh Quan Restaurant

What is Tan Dinh Quan Restaurant? Occupying a strip along St. Clair Avenue West just west of Runnymede in The Junction, Tan Dinh Quan is a no-frills Vietnamese spot devoted to deep-cut regional street eats. The unassuming dining room features utilitarian tables, laminate booths, and bright lighting that keeps all attention on the kitchen's Saigon-style cooking. It is an unpretentious, independent neighbourhood fixture where diners gather for hard-to-find Southern Vietnamese specialties rarely seen on standard pho menus.

Tan Dinh Quan Restaurant Menu & What to Order The defining order is Bánh Ướt Dĩa Chồng, a communal set of delicate steamed rice sheets served on stacked plates alongside nem nướng, grilled pork, Vietnamese cold cuts, pickled greens, and custom dipping sauces. Snails are another major draw, particularly the Ốc Hương Trứng Muối tossed in a rich, velvety salted egg yolk sauce. For soup, skip standard pho for the funky, pungent broth of Bún Mắm Miền Tây or a bowl of beef offal stew served with a crusty baguette (Phá Lấu Bánh Mì).

Know Before You Go Seating is strictly walk-in only, and service can move at a relaxed pace during busy weekend dinners when complex specialty platters are assembled to order. Street parking is available along St. Clair Avenue West, and the location is easily reached via the 512 St. Clair and 71/79 Runnymede transit routes. Tan Dinh Quan operates from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. every day except Wednesday, when the kitchen is closed.
